Two Steamers

Two steamers which were in the harbor of Cape Charles at the same time are shown here. They were picking up freight and/or passengers for other ports of call on the Chesapeake Bay. They were not long-voyage ocean-going freight carriers but rather were used for short hauls of a few hundred miles or short trip duration of a few days to its destination and back.
