Dr. Robert Lyons will discuss a wide array of suitable native species and derived cultivars highlighting those plants with qualitites that are colorful and visually appealing to gardeners and landscapers alike.

Part of the ESPL Friends "Living on the Shore" series. 

Color, site suitability, cost, life cycle and nativity along with a low maintenance philosophy will be included.

Dr. Lyons is presently Professor of Landscape Horticulture, the Program Director for the Longwood Graduate Program in Public Horticulture, and Director of the Center for Public Horticulture at the University of Delaware.  He has taught courses in herbaceous plant material, their diversity and use in the landscape.  Dr. Lyons has been a photographer for over 30 years and is the primary photographer for Horticopia plant selection software.
